Syntactic parsing of L2 verb structural continuation bias by Spanish-English bilinguals (HSP 2022)

This study used a g-maze task to test whether Spanish-English bilinguals displayed verb bias effects for L2, and whether such effects were smaller than for L1. Results confirm that bilinguals use structural biases incrementally in L2 processing. However RTs overall were significantly slower for bilinguals. Both interaction effects were also significantly smaller, suggesting that bilinguals may be incorporating linguistic L1 knowledge when parsing the L2.
